The public perception of Miss America is often that it’s a one-night telecast, but in reality it’s so much more.

Each year, thousands of young women across the country participate at the local, state, and national levels, culminating in the selection of 52 national finalists who compete for the title of Miss America or Miss America’s Teen. One of them could be you!

Every Miss America and Miss America's Teen starts at a local competition just like this one!

To compete for the coveted national titles, delegates must first enter and win a local competition - just like this one! Each local titleholder will then compete at the state level, resulting in the crowning of the state titleholder. The state titleholder will then go on to represent her state at nationals - a process requiring hard work, talent, and personal commitment.

This unique program is a year-round opportunity for women to earn scholarships, grow their networks, learn valuable life and career skills, and make a difference in their communities. For over 100 years, we have been committed to empowering the advocates and leaders of tomorrow, and we’re just getting started.
